Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how glenkirs_video_bot ("the Application", "we") handles information when you use our TikTok integration.

1. Summary

The Application is a local desktop tool. Video processing and OAuth tokens are stored on your computer. We do not operate a cloud service that collects end-user data from the general public.

2. Information we access via TikTok

When you authorize the Application through TikTok Login (OAuth), we may receive:

• user.info.basic - open_id and basic profile identifiers needed to link your TikTok account in the admin UI.
• user.info.profile - display name, username, and bio text (read-only) to show connected account details in the admin panel.
• video.publish - permission to publish videos you explicitly choose to your TikTok profile (Direct Post).

We do not request access to your TikTok password. Authorization happens on TikTok's website.

3. How we use information

• Display which TikTok account is connected in the local admin interface.
• Publish videos only when you click Publish in the Application.
• Store OAuth access and refresh tokens locally to maintain the connection until you revoke access.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use TikTok data for advertising or profiling.

4. Local storage

OAuth tokens and account settings are saved in local files on your device (for example data/tiktok/accounts/<slug>/token.json). You can delete tokens by removing the account in the admin UI or deleting these files.

5. Video content

Videos are processed and stored locally. When you publish, video files are transmitted to TikTok using the Content Posting API according to TikTok's policies.

6. Third parties

• TikTok - OAuth, profile read, and video publishing. See TikTok Privacy Policy.

7. Data retention

Data remains on your device until you delete it or revoke the app's access in TikTok account settings.

8. Security

You are responsible for securing your computer, network, and API credentials. Use strong device access controls and do not share OAuth tokens.

9. Children

The Application is not directed at children under 13. TikTok's age requirements apply to connected accounts.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
